I do love Bend. I'm raising my two sons here, and they remind me a little of you and Daniel ... young and adventurous. Both of them raced out of the house today to go camping on the Umpqua River for some steelhead fishing. I highly recommend a trip over to Crater Lake if you guys have the time. As fast as you guys are peddling, it's a pretty easy trip off of Highway 97. The Umpqua River is just an hour or so away, home to fishing spots once visited by Zane Gray and Ernest Hemingway.

Thanks Debbie. Bend has been amazing. It reminds me of being back home in Boulder, CO. What an incredible outdoor oriented community and I must say that Townshend's Tea House is rapidly shooting to the top of my favorite wifi hotspots. Hope all is well and keep posted; great things are on the horizon.

William: Thanks for the email regarding SWAE. Good luck with your trip down south. Hope you enjoyed your time in Bend.
Daniel: Listen to your mother. Luck gets you only so far. It's about having a vision, and then working harder than everyone else.
Comment: When you post a picture, let readers know where it's taken from. This one looks like the Deschutes. Or John Day?

It's so easy to get stuck in a routine, and only dream about going after what you want. It's great to see that you are getting up and doing it ....so great to hear of the adventures, and see more people following their dream...with eyes wide open.

Daniel - my first thought after I read your blog today was that you are a very lucky person - living your dream...but it isn't luck - it is having a vision and making it a reality...it is hard work, a firm belief in what you are doing, good people to do it with, and alot of guts to go forward with it all. I continue to be very proud of you. Love mom
